About Heidi

I'm Heidi Roschier, an artist whose work is driven by color, movement, and emotion. I mostly paint abstract pieces, but I enjoy the freedom to explore different styles and techniques. My process is intuitive. Brushstrokes guide my body and ideas begin to flow. Each piece is born in the moment, where there are no rules, just freedom, color, and feeling.

For the past decade, I've been creating artworks in my studio located in the Roihupelto art district in Helsinki. In my paintings, I primarily use vegan acrylics and watercolors, often blending them through mixed techniques. Occasionally, I immerse myself in live painting performances and shape unique earrings as another form of expression.

Another source of my passion is designing and crafting lightweight, colorful art earrings. Their forms are often inspired by the beauty of nature like seashells, waves, and organic shapes spark many of my ideas.

Nature is deeply important to me, both as inspiration and as a way of being. I draw creative energy from my travels, especially the lushness of the tropics, the magic of color, and the ever-moving sea. I love the moment a painting comes alive on a wall. 

For me, painting is a physical process, almost like a dance, full of energy and presence.

I’m at my happiest when I paint. It's so much more than just creating art. It's how I exist, feel, and understand the world. Painting and color embody growth, change, joy, sorrow the full spectrum of being human.

Veganism has become part of my artistic identity a conscious choice that respects nature and all living beings. I carefully select my materials to ensure no harm is done in the creative process. My vegan choices now extend from primers to paints and tools. This ethical foundation adds depth to the artworks and creating a beautiful connection with nature.
